WDE MASPELL TVS ROLL 1.8 E 8 L vacuum kiln was built in 2015 by the Italian company WDE MASPELL S.r.l.. The machine is used for the heat treatment of solid wood, in the form of planks or pre-cut pieces with a maximum length of 8 metres. The innovative vacuum technology, compared to traditional methods of impregnating wood, reduces treatment times by up to 50%, while also reducing emissions of harmful substances into the environment. High temperature combined with vacuum improves the intrinsic properties of the wood by changing its chemical structure. As a result, the wood elements take on a very dark colour and, most importantly, become harder and more resistant to external influences, i.e. moisture or fungi.
