Paddle steamer De Majesteit is a special sailing heritage from 1926, designed as a luxury passenger ship for the Rhine and a paragon of comfort and technology. With a length of 81.5 meters and a width of 15.65 meters, she is one of the largest paddle steamers ever built. The ship is distinguished by its completely authentic propulsion: two paddle wheels, powered by an original 750 hp steam engine. This makes it the only paddle steamer in the Netherlands that actually functions on steam power – a rarity of international level. Thanks to the combination with a modern bow and stern thruster, De Majesteit has excellent sailing characteristics and high manoeuvrability, with a maximum speed of approximately 24 km per hour.
