SODICK AQ325L wire EDM was built in 2002 in Japan by Sodick Co., Ltd.
The machine, distinguished by its exceptional precision and
reliability, is an excellent choice for the production of parts with
complex geometries, i.e. dies, punches and tools. The electrical
erosion technology used in the machining process enables difficult
shapes to be achieved in even the hardest materials. This method also
minimises or completely eliminates the need for other secondary
processes, such as polishing.
The SODICK AQ325L is designed for machining workpieces with a maximum
weight of 450 kg. The machining process is performed in a
dielectric-filled work tank using a wire with a maximum diameter of
0.30 mm. The workhead moves in five axes X,Y,Z,U,V with feeds of 350
mm, 250 mm, 220 mm, 80 mm and 80 mm respectively. The use of a
dielectric increases the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of
the workpieces. The adjustable wire tension, combined with the high
operating speed, reduces overall cycle time while maintaining high
production efficiency.
The machine design is distinguished by its exceptional stability and
compact dimensions. This facilitates daily operation and the
preparation of workpieces for machining. The AQ325L wire EDM is
equipped with an integrated dielectric system with a capacity of 530
litres, a deioniser and a filtration system based on replaceable paper
filters. The total weight of the machine is 2800 kg.
