NIDEC ARISA S-2-500-240-120-FD mechanical press was built in 2006 in
Spain by Nidec Press & Automation Co. (NP&A). It is an extremely
versatile press that is used in the series production of components
for the broadly defined automotive or machinery industry. It enables
even the most demanding metal forming operations, i.e. precise
punching and stamping of metal parts. In addition to its standard
purpose, with the appropriate tooling and material feeding systems,
the machine can also be used as a transfer press or progressive
press.
All processes are performed with a high press force of 500 tonnes. The
drive system of the NIDEC ARISA S-2-500-240-120-FD press is based on a
flywheel and an eccentric gear, cooperating with two connecting rods.
This solution guarantees even torque transmission and a smooth working
cycle. The slider, on the other hand, is guided in multiple points by
roller guides, which stabilises its feed, reduces wear on the guiding
elements and also helps to achieve a high quality of the stamped parts
even under the heaviest loads.
The NIDEC ARISA S2 500T is also distinguished by its rigid design with
an open side wall, enabling convenient feeding of the material strip
and handling of large-sized tools. The robust body of the machine has
been designed to limit structural deformation during high load
operation. This translates into high precision slider guidance and
repeatability of the performed operations.
