Both machines are in Excellent condition
This machine was used to grind the gears for the US nuclear submarine
transmissions (gearboxes). The machine was originally purchased new by
General Electric for the Lynn Massachusetts Facility. We purchased it
from them in excellent condition and it has been stored E51237227 in
our heated facility since. The machine produced AGMA Class 14 and 15
gears in a precision climate-controlled room.
Thre is very minimal wear on any mechanical components including the
axis drives as it produced only a limited number of gears for these
special submarine transmission gearboxes. It could not grind to this
high accuracy class if there were any problems with wear on the
machine.
