AIR LIQUIDE CB MATIC SM 42X43 column and boom was manufactured in 2016
in France by Air Liquide Welding (now Lincoln Electric). The machine,
designed for precision circumferential and longitudinal welding, is
the perfect solution for companies specialising in the manufacture of,
among others, steel structures, pipelines, tanks and wind turbine
towers. The welding process is performed fully automatically by means
of a welding heads system, which enables the welding of two welds
simultaneously on tubes with a maximum diameter of 4000 mm and I-beams
with maximum dimensions of 3000 x 800 mm. The use of this solution
significantly reduces production time, while maintaining high
precision and efficiency at the same time.
The CB MATIC SM 42X43 welding boom on offer has a tube welding head
for submerged arc welding (SAW) with a range of safety systems, i.e.
laser pointers, sensors and a vision system. It features a modular
design and full integration with the wire feeder, flux management
system and power source. The adjustment in many planes, programmed in
the convenient control panel, allows the head to position perfectly on
the weld spot. During machining, the head is guided automatically
using an edge finder.
Each head is supplied with high-quality current, generated by a
STARMATIC 1200i AC/DC welding source. The unit, based on inverter
technology, is ideal for demanding welding applications requiring
constant voltage, amperage and wire feed speed. It supports all the
key characteristics, i.e. CV (constant voltage), CC (constant current)
and CW (constant wire speed). In addition, DC+ and DC- as well as AC
operation allows optimum results to be achieved when welding materials
with different characteristics. All of this, together with the
possibility of simple integration with other equipment, makes the
welder the perfect solution for submerged arc welding (SAW).
All this is completed by the flux feed and extraction system, which is
an essential element in automated welding processes. This system,
connected to the tank, is responsible for recovering and reusing
excess flux. In this way, the cleanliness of the station is ensured,
while maintaining the highest weld quality at the same time.
The AIR LIQUIDE welding station is fully complete and consists of the
following components:
