AGIE CHARMILLES FORM E 600 die-sinking EDM was built in 2024 in China
by Beijing Agie Charmilles Co., Ltd. The machine is designed for
precision EDM machining of workpieces with a maximum weight of 1000
kg. Electrical discharge machining enables complex shapes to be made
in even the hardest materials, as well as minimises or completely
eliminates the need for further finishing processes, such as
polishing.
The AGIE CHARMILLES FORM E 600 is a state-of-the-art solution for
companies looking for high efficiency, precision and low operating
costs. The stable design is based on a rigid ‘C’ shaped frame and
a cross table that performs movements in the X and Y axes. Precise
positioning in all linear axes is ensured by servo drives that work
with ballscrews, encoders and measuring scales with a resolution of
0.1 μm. The accuracy of the movements is additionally controlled with
a laser interferometer and corrected by software in accordance with
ISO/VDI 3441. The C axis is integrated in the workhead quill and
enables rotation of the electrode around the Z axis. All linear guides
and ball screws are lubricated continuously by a central lubrication
system.
The machining process is performed in a tank filled with dielectric
fluid, which improves the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of
the workpieces. Dielectric level and temperature sensors monitor the
working conditions and, if the permissible parameters are exceeded,
stop the machine and generate warnings. The work table with a length
of 800 mm and a width of 600 mm has T-slots for fast and easy
workpiece clamping. The 6-position electrode changer is positioned
outside the tank so that it does not restrict the work table space.
The advanced iQ module reduces electrode wear by maximising the energy
of each pulse. This system eliminates lateral and frontal electrode
wear, optimises working dynamics and flushing conditions.
The AGIE CHARMILLES electric discharge machine is also equipped with a
digital ISPG generator with a microprocessor control module. It
cooperates with the TECFORM module, which automatically selects
technological parameters for different material combinations,
increasing productivity and machining quality. The entire system is
complemented by CNC control with a modern AC FORM HMI interface. The
control system enables rapid creation of machining programmes with
graphic programme simulation, import of data from external devices via
the network and full process control. All this makes the offered FORM
E600 sinker EDM an excellent choice for demanding industrial
applications. The total weight of the machine is 4050 kg.
