TSUGAMI HS207 CNC automatic lathe was built in 2011 in Japan by
TSUGAMI CORPORATION. The machine is designed for the mass production
of small parts with complex geometries, used in various industries. It
enables precise turning, drilling and threading of bar material with a
maximum diameter of 20 mm.
Machining is performed in 9 numerically controlled axes using the main
spindle and a sub-spindle. This configuration enables operations to be
performed on both sides of the workpiece without the need to re-clamp
it. Once machining on one side is complete, the workpiece is
transferred to the second spindle, which continues the operation from
the opposite side. As a result, successive operations can be performed
in a single cycle, which speeds up production and ensures high
dimensional repeatability of the finished parts.
The TSUGAMI HS207 is operated using a FANUC Series 31i-MODEL A CNC
controller with an intuitive interface and access to a range of
advanced functions. Automatic material feeding is provided by the FMB
turbo 3-36 bar feeder. The machine is also equipped with, amongst
others, a chip conveyor and a fire extinguishing system. The TSUGAMI
HS 207 sliding head lathe weighs 3300 kg.
