CHARMILLES FI 440 CC wire EDM was manufactured in 2007 in Switzerland
by Charmilles Technologies SA. The offered machine is an excellent
choice for the production of precision dies, cutting dies and punches.
It enables the efficient machining of workpieces made from even the
hardest materials by means of electrical discharge machining. During
machining, material is removed through controlled electrical
discharges occurring between the wire and the workpiece submerged in a
dielectric. This results in a high-quality surface finish without the
need for additional finishing operations, such as polishing.
The CHARMILLES FI 440 CC performs machining with a 5-axis cutting
head. All axes of the machine are equipped with measuring systems in
the form of linear scales and an anti-collision system. This solution
guarantees the highest positioning accuracy and safe operation, even
at high movement dynamics. The process parameters are programmed in an
intuitive CNC control system offering access to a wide range of
advanced functions. All this is complemented by a rigid design that
maintains high stability during intensive use. The CHARMILLES FI 440
