WEGENER BM 301 plastic bending machine was built in Germany by Wegener
International GmbH. The machine was regularly maintained and upgraded
throughout its service life. In 2022, a general overhaul was carried
out at the machine manufacturer.
WEGENER BM 301 is the perfect choice for precision forming of
thermoplastic sheets made of, among others, PVC, PC/ABS and PMMA with
a maximum thickness of 15 mm and a width of 3050 mm. The machining
process is performed by means of heating elements in the form of a
lower flat strip and an upper V-shaped strip, which heat the material
at a controlled temperature to a plastic state. The material is then
bent to the desired angle between 0° and 110°.
The use of the highest-quality heating elements ensures efficient and
even heating of the material along the bending line. They are moved
manually along hardened steel rollers. Repeatable positioning of the
material is, in turn, ensured by a stop at the front of the machine,
which can be set at four adjustable fixed points. This stop is
connected to the heating elements by a chain drive, which ensures
synchronous, counter-rotating movements controlled pneumatically.
The machine is operated by means of a relay control with an adjustable
time relay, enabling independent setting of heating and cooling times
depending on the type and thickness of the material. All controls are
located on the central control console at the stop and at the front of
the machine. The bending bar is operated by a foot control, while
blocking and movement of the bending bar is carried out from the
two-hand control. The heating bar is activated by a manual controller.
The electronics and pneumatics responsible for controlling the machine
are integrated into a side control cabinet. The WEGENER plastic sheet
bending machine weighs 1300 kg.
