CIDAN QLA-PROFI Cutting-To-Length Lines

CIDAN QLA-PROFI slitting and cut-to-length line is designed for the efficient machining of sheet metal fed from a coil. It enables the slitting of material with a maximum thickness of 3 mm into strips of a specified width, as well as cut-to-length into sheets with a maximum length of 1550 mm. The combination of both cutting methods in one process enables the efficient preparation of the material for subsequent machining stages while maintaining high dimensional accuracy and repeatability.

The CIDAN QLA-PROFI 1550/1,5 coil slitting line consists of machines built between 2008 and 2011, which were combined into one complete system in 2023. It includes:
– 5t sheet metal decoiler
– CIDAN QLA-PROFI cutting unit with straightening and feeding rolls, circular knives for slitting and a guillotine for cut-to-length
– SPX-20/130-2C hydraulic table
– sheet metal recoiler
– scrap recoiler

The process is fully automated and begins with loading the sheet metal coil onto the coil lift table. The lift table, with a maximum load capacity of 5 tonnes, lifts the coil and places it on the decoiler arm. The decoiler unwinds the material from the coil and feeds it towards the working area, where the cutting is performed. The cutting unit is equipped with a straightening system. Depending on the operation, the sheet metal is slit longitudinally using circular blades or transversely using a guillotine.

After cut-to-length, the finished sheet metal sheets are transferred to a hydraulic table, which facilitates their removal. In the case of slitting, the resulting material strips are wound into a coil by a recoiler. The QLA PROFI slitting and cut-to-length line is also equipped with a scrap recoiler for collecting and winding the material remnants generated during the cutting process. As a result, scrap is continuously removed from the working area, which facilitates keeping the area clean and improves the line’s continuous operation.
