The BackX is a passive exoskeleton (i.e. it does not require any
electronics or battery),
designed to reduce the load on the lumbar spine during dynamic lifting
and bending movements
significantly.
Main functions and features:
• Relief of the lower back
The system reduces the load in the L5/S1 range by an average of 60%
when lifting and can compensate for loads up to 13 kg.
• The device automatically detects when support is needed (e.g. when
bending over) and when not (e.g. when walking) through a mechanical
sensor S51224454 mechanism. When walking, it switches itself off –
for maximum freedom of movement.
• Easy and quick to put on and take off
Weighing only about 3 kg, the BackX can be put on or taken off in less
than 30 seconds.
